We are saddened to report that our lake lost a champion on May 31. Val spent countless hours over the last year as the volunteer Best Management Practice Advisor for our 319 Program Grant - meeting with landowners to discuss practical erosion solutions and serving on the Watershed Management Leadership Team. Val was also a skilled environmental educator — view her Rain Garden Presentation from last summer’s Gravel Road Workshop on Waterman Lane below (1 minute).

Val left us with a huge contribution to the lake’s restoration. Just a month before her passing, Val ably supervised the construction of both the Burnham Beach and Kanokolus Shoreline Stabilization Projects, as well as the boat launch parking area paving work.
